OUR STORY

OGEF was founded following Peter Kasanda’s experience supporting vulnerable girls transitioning from orphanages into adulthood. As the landscape for helping vulnerable people in Tanzania has evolved, OGEF has also transformed. Today, OGEF operates as an advocacy and collaboration platform, championing proven, large-scale initiatives such as CAMFED Tanzania, alongside other charitable organisations that support girls’ education, leadership, and economic empowerment. Our role is to connect donors, partners, and communities with high-impact programs that are already delivering measurable results across Tanzania.

WHY “OCEAN”

The Indian Ocean on Tanzania’s coast is a symbol of renewal and possibility. Our name reflects our belief that education is a tide that can lift every girl.

OUR VALUES

DIGNITY

Every girl deserves safety,
choice and opportunity.

PARTNERSHIP

We believe that collaboration is the key to success, which is why we are championing the valuable work of CAMFED Tanzania
